The government will do well with higher profits from royalties.
- LegacyRoyalties.comAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09669105640597560856noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11762382.post-51441085966825656812013-07-30T09:44:21.922-06:002013-07-30T09:44:21.922-06:00Lonesome Winsome Lonesome Winsome Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11762382.post-1662194087759060772013-07-29T18:01:41.687-06:002013-07-29T18:01:41.687-06:00A couple weeks ago Winsome Quigley wrote that New ...A couple weeks ago Winsome Quigley wrote that New Mexicans don't know who they are, or something to that effect. I saw some criticism of that column on Facebook, by proud New Mexicans, but in any event, the process of a people defining themselves, or of acquiring a sense of who they are, does take place, and certain people are in a position to influence that.

Someone who writes well enough to appear in national publications, has lived here their whole life, was raised by and around people who lived here before New Mexico was a state, has been intimately involved in running different aspects of the state, knows how the state works, has a broad life experience, straddles the ethnic crease that runs through the middle of the state's psyche, has a wicked sense of humor, etc., would certainly be able to help give New Mexicans a sense of who they are, by way of a memoir, or a novel, or by editing and publishing numerous years of blog posts, or through any kind of writing. By way of photography, too.

I don't know anybody like that of course but if I did I wonder if they might think about that. Even an article that says something in broad outlines sometimes proves to be very influential. It gets people thinking.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
