Not any New Years resolutions this year. I do have some hopes. Here they are.
- Journalism in America gets serious again.
- The Tea Party continues a meltdown.
- More movies like "American Hustle" that have great stories.
- 20 more lbs. off my aging body.
- Some republican leader in NM actually does something to increase jobs.
- Religions quit killing people for their deities. (HAH!)
- The Albuquerque Journal gets a new editor.
- We have little wind this spring.
- The drought eases in the Southwest
- Reality television shows end.

Alas, just a few minutes before reading Hope #1 -- Journalism gets serious again, I read this at another Web site:
"Time Inc. will abandon the traditional separation between its newsroom and business sides, a move that has caused angst among its journalists. Now, the newsroom staffs at Time Inc.’s magazines will report to the business executives. Such a structure, once verboten at journalistic institutions, is seen as necessary to create revenue opportunities and stem the tide of declining subscription and advertising sales."
Happy New Year, Jimmy
