We flew the Jet Blue red eye into New York Wednesday at midnight on the heels of the polar vortex. A visit to our new grandson, Finn, is in order. Looking forward to seeing his brother Simon to have conversations in full sentences with him.
Last evening I had to marvel at the republicans in congress trying to pretend they care about poor people and the radical division of wealth in the USA. You just know that Karl Rove and the other GOP manipulators have been studying their polls and know they must do some fancy footwork to show people they 'care'. It is surreal.

Add our own Karl Rove, Jay McClesley, to that. Gov Martinez is attending a matanza in the South Valley to show she cares. The rare event is open to the public and free. I hope her party is crashed by picketers.
McClatchy has a very flattering story about Martin Heinrich and the evolution of his views on NSA spying.

What's more interesting to me is that he advertised the story on Facebook. I've been critical of him (and other NM Democrats in DC) for only putting out things for domestic consumption that are devoid of content and meaning. Hopefully this trend will continue and extend to economic matters.
Economic populism is always a winning position to take, and someone really has to have a good reason not to take it.
