Governor Loses Mind

Oh Susana, you have truly lost your mind in not calling a special Legislative session to pass a much needed Capital Outlay bill.  You and your mascots are sacrificing the well being of New Mexico's citizens with your bizarre approach to government.  You hate government, but you are leading it in our state, and doing a disastrous job.  You are putting your national political aspirations ahead of our long term well being.  Even after economic development experts have taken state leaders to task on their lack of any aspirations.  You are the worst Governor in the nation in economic development. The worst.  And I for one hate being second to Alabama or Mississippi.

We are lost.  Adrift.  At sea.  And we will be until you and other right wing nut jobs are gone from our realm.  You are Looney Tunes and will soon be seen as such.  But it might be too late for our future.  Shame.

Even the Journal's account makes it sound like she's having herself self a little snit fit. But I guess the governor and her "mascots" must have construed some way this will play well with the big Republican donors who call the shots nowadays. It's sad though.

Also, note how the Journal tries to downplay the fact that the police launched an investigation into Kari Brandenburg as retaliation and runs a photo of her that is less than flattering.

Also, it didn't take Michelle Grisham long to get herself named in an ethics investigation, just over two years in office, but of course this has been going on for awhile so it's less than two years. We were just talking about the corruption of the public and corporate realms, too, and right on cue here comes a politician hauling home big bags of loot and being jetted all over the globe by big oil, along with her entourage and her lover.

By the way, I used to have a rule of thumb. As a reporter I figured I heard about half of what happened that was going on under the board, and of that half I could prove about half of it well enough to put it in the paper. In other words there are things going on, right now, that we don't know about. I guarantee it. What surfaces gives an indication though and quite a bit is floating to the surface right now.

At least we have Martin Heinrich, who to me seems clean as a whistle.

Gov. Martinez is too busy taking trips around the country seeking another job. She also travels by helicopter in Santa Fe. My friends that live in Santa Fe told me.

This is consistent with this week's theme of corruption and money in politics. The governor put her donor base first here with tax cuts for trust funders. Pay to play with no new construction for those unions who want the capitol outlay money. Maybe she should take up golf to see you can have civil discussion. All of the comments from this Gov are filled with political hate. She could care less about middle class jobs and pitiful economic report after report shows NM falling behind. It's all about money for this Gov and her national ambition. Let's not fool ourselves that she cares about our state, kids and economy. She's running state gov't into the ground and we're all paying the price for her ongoing foolishness through lack of economic activity, bad schools, bad police, bad ethics in government, no attempt at transparency and basically lying to win office. She has followed through on nothing and we continue to suffer. Yes, elections do have consequences.

Wow, with visionary services like this I can see why this state is in such shambles. You can't expect Gov Martinez to be able right this ship in months after the damage caused by the years of liberal policies and associated corruption. Especially with the remanents of the liberal machine still present in the State Senate. Another election could correct that and then the state will have a chance for economic recovery and some prosperity, and maybe not such a leach on the Federal government for a change.

Clearly Susanna must destroy the state in order to save it. She'll play the victim and blame the democrats for her ineptitude. Her veto of the public defenders funding showed how petty she can be but this takes it to a new level of incompetence.

These are great comments.

I especially like the Anonymous comment in the governor's defense:

"You can't expect Gov Martinez to be able right this ship in months after the damage caused by the years of liberal policies and associated corruption."

That's a good point. What can one governor do in two terms? The problems in New Mexico weren't caused in two terms, after all. Just ask the Natives.

If governors can't be expected to do anything in two terms, Why have a governor at all?
