Many historians have drawn parallels of what is going on in the US and what led to the downfall of the Roman Empire. Such things as political corruption; conflict between the senate and the emperor; on-going wars and military spending; a failing economy; unemployment; a decline in morality, ethics and values; natural disasters; trade deficits; inflation.
