Funny

One Sci Fi author that I read occasionally is William Gibson. He is the acknowledged creator of the term "cyberspace."

He was interviewed in the New York Times magazine this morning and said something profound. It had to do with writing a new novel, "Spook Country", which I saw on the racks yesterday.I will wait for the paperback. It is not science fiction but is about the present and current world we live in. The novel sets a dark mood for the world. When asked why he had not written a novel like this before he said it would not have been possible. He said if he had gone to a publisher with a story about earth's climate melting down, terrorists flying airplanes into skyscrapers and then bush and America invading the wrong country because of it, he would never had sold the idea.

Think about this for a moment and marvel.
