Early morning golf at Santa Ana

That's a beautiful scene and a nice shot.

It puts me in mind of a transparency, or slide as I used to call them. The vividness, those colors. Everything is completely in focus.

I wonder if a non golfer would have thought of that shot. Would see the landscape in those terms. The sculpted part of the course is what makes the composition work, to my eye. Well, it's central to the design, but you had to be able to make that sculpting, those crisp lines, the contrasts, be seen - the focus, the colors, the shading do that.

Hmmm. The similarity to a slide was coincidental, I at first thought, but now that I think of it, those similarities are an integral part of what makes it work.
