Kent Walz....Journal Editor

A reader can only take so much.  Here is what the editor of the Albuquerque Journal had to say on the  opinion page today.   In reference to Guatemalans rushing the US Border he said,

"They, apparently, aren’t persuaded by continual harping by President Obama and his followers about all the things wrong with our nation, including income inequality and the plight of the poor and of minorities."

Gee, what is it about Obama that the owners and editor of the Journal hate so much?  Hmmm, I just can't figure it out.  I mean the economy is going full steam ahead.  More people than ever have health insurance.  We are starting to make a little progress on climate change and renewable energy.  Gee, what is it that they don't like?  I just can't fathom it.   Is there something I am missing?

The people of Guatemala live in abject poverty as do many people in Mexico - something Mr. Waltz, in his ivory tower filled with rich white people, would never understand.

Kent Walz is editor of the largest newspaper in the only state that has a backward moving economy, where it is all but stagnant in population growth, and the state's largest city is under the microscope of the DOJ. Cooincidence?

The same Journal is the main provider of news articles on AOL along with KOAT TV .Their news bias is very evident thats why I stopped my paper delivery years ago. I wish people would do the same maybe then the Journal will get the message.

It is not just Kent Waltz. Assistant Editor Dan Herrera is just as bad and writes probably most of the Editorials, no doubt the way Kent Waltz wants them written.

Latina said, Bubba said and now I say Mr Walz in his ivory tower filled with rich white people could never grasp this concept. Those rich people are starting to include minions like Susana Martinez (who is not White.) Scary. Signed, an Anglo.

Thanks, Bubba.

The Journal is endorsing Berry's contract offer to APD officers.

That pretty much means the contract will be voted down. If the Journal and Walz like it, APD officers need to vote it down. The Journal, Perry, Berry and Eden do not have APD officers best interest in mind.

Officers who read your blog need to vote NO.

You need to chill out a little bit. Seriously.

Latina,

The Albuquerque Journal has always been a right wing rag and I never bought it. I always read the Albuquerque Tribune, because it was real journalism. The Albuquerque Tribune exposed lots of scandals and corruption in New Mexico. It's too bad the Tribune is gone.
My decreased father who lived in other states and countries always said that New Mexico is the most corrupt place he lived in. It's not just the rich Anglos that are corrupt but also the old hispanic families and old Anglo ranching families that are corrupt. This corruption keeps New Mexico poor and a place that our youth will escape for a better life.
Read the old Albuquerque Tribune articles and you will see that the corruption in Mayor Berry isn't new. You might be able to use Lexus Nexus if you are affiliated with U.N.M.or there might be micro film in Zimmerman Library's basement.
As for your Ivory Tower comment that usually means academics spend their time in a university, and they have no connection to the real world. You should read about some of the scandals that UNM had over the past 40 years. I remember what it was like to attend UNM when the Maloof's were regents and it was no picnic.

I am merely saying that Latina needs to enjoy life a little more. I agree with much that she has to say except for her racism on white people. She seems to be full of hate. That is no way to live, even if there is injustice.

Where in Latina's comments is there any expression of have? I'm a male Anglo and don't disagree with her. And I certainly don't need to throw down something she didn't say and attack that as if she said it if there were a point in her statement meriting argument.

what is wrong with you in that you don't see the phrase, 'rich white people' as racist? stop defending the racism.

What has Obama done that is proving to be truly worthwhile? That is right, essentially nothing other than travel and play golf at taxpayer expense.
The economy is not going full steam, medical costs have gone up in response to the health mandate, and there is still no safe way to dispose of expended batteries used in electric and hybrid vehicles.
Yes, you are definitely missing the things that are directly in front of you every day. Not wanting to see them or be confused by the facts may be part of the problem.

Omg here we go again. Please site the facts which support your criticism of Obama because I can't find them. There are so many economic indicators in contradiction to your comments that it would really be easier for you to show us the country is worse off today than when Obama took office.
