And don't even get me started on the negative effects on individuals and a society of these organized sports that we elevate above learning and everything else and that are often held up as ways to teach positive values like fair play and "sportsmanship", that they teach that great benefit comes to you when you can defeat someone else, that we can engage in ritualized forms of violence and warfare and not even be aware of what we're doing, that instead of suppressing our lesser natures we celebrate them and do everything we can to ingrain them into our people at as early an age as possible.
