Gathers No Moss

Now Rolling Stone Magazine is out with its investigative piece into the Albuquerque Police Department.  Mayor Berry and his minions have run out of eyes to blacken.  Does anyone care?  Apparently not enough.  But more and more former Mayor Marty Chavez is also getting some scrutiny in this disaster as well as Darren White, that GOP operative who ran public safety for Mayor Berry.

All the closing funds, economic incentives, right to work laws, tax breaks, etc. in the world will not bring any jobs here from out of state until this tragic situation is dealt with in a serious way. The Police Chief must resign and the top brass must go.

It's like the article says, and what several people interviewed said: this is the police department the majority of the people want. Firing individuals or the entire police department or even the whole city government won't correct this problem. The problem is the majority of the people, of Albuquerque, of Ferguson, of Long Island where the cops choked Eric Garner to death in broad daylight. The article said DOJ investigations of the police have doubled.

It's time to broaden your perspective on the problem. It's society, it's culture. A conservative society is more in favor of law and order, and police brutality, and of oppression, and is more violent.

There used to be a Left, and Democrats were it's party. Democrats have moved so far to the right that Republicans are now taking positions to the left of them, as I outline in my blog today.

In the 60s and 70s, the last time there was anything like a Left in the US, they used to repeat a line from the Pogo comic strip. It was a takeoff on a famous dispatch from Admiral Perry, "We have met the enemy and he is ours." Pogo said, We have met the enemy and he is us.

We complain about Republicans but elect Democrats who won't give voice to the problem or do anything about it. Neither will we. We tend to our 401Ks, our TVs, our computers, our smart phones, our vehicles, our houses, our yards, ourselves. This is what we get.
