Cowardice

This is the statement released on Congresswoman Michelle Grisham Lujan's facebook page tonight after she attended Netanyahu's speech in which he pretty much said we should trust him and not our own elected President.

"Today, I attended Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to a joint session of Congress. The Prime Minister has been consistent on his approach to Iran and today he brought his case directly to Congress and the American people. It is clear there is agreement on the threat that a nuclear Iran would pose to Israel and the world. However, while he was clear about the threat, the Prime Minister did not articulate an alternative path that prevents a nuclear Iran. His pessimism toward any negotiated deal with Iran is understandable. Even so, all options should remain on the negotiating table as we pursue our shared goal of keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of Iran’s leaders."

This is without a doubt the biggest bullshit statement I have ever....ever seen come out of a Congressional member who pretends to be a democrat but shows no inclination to act like one.  Never will I support her again.  Lujan is pandering for donations from pro Israeli PACs, the defense industry, and anti peace operatives.  It is nauseating.

We might as well make Israel the 51st state. It seems a majority of people in this country have more loyalty to Israel and BoBo or BeBe, than they do for our own country.

Puerto Rico will have to wait, Israel will be the 51st state.

She is certainly showing her true colors....... a right of center Democrat? Or a fake Democrat? Or a DINO? I wonder which it is?

Oh Ya??? And your courageous Martin Heinrich boycotts the speech but watches it live in the comfort of his Senate Office? Martin could have just as easily watched the speech in person and denounced the tactic and the speech immediately after and how it was an obvious attempt to discredit Obama by the Republicans and to sabotage the President's foreign policy. Now that would have been courageous. Our two Democratic Senators and especially Mitchell Lujan Grisham and Ben Ray Lujan, should have from the get go denounced and blasted John Boehners invitation without first conferring with the President and all four should have boycotted the speech if they really wanted to support the President. Meanwhile, Obama does not watch the speech but reads a transcript.

To quote your post "... a Congressional member who pretends to be a democrat but shows no inclination to act like one..." Boy you hit the nail on the head with that comment and it is equally applicable to way too many Democrats in this State, especially VOTERS. Why do Democrats elect Republicans like Suzana Martinez, Diana Duran, Aubry Dunn, Steve Pierce, RJ Berry to office? Before you blast Mitchell Lujan Grisham as being a coward, you may want to ask yourself what Republican will you be voting for who will oppose her for re-election? RJ Berry?

Not supporting Grisham isn't the same as voting for a Republican but could change her behavior.

Grisham might be thinking about running against one of our sitting senators as a Republican. She's aware that's the same path previously lifelong Democrat Susana Martinez took to fame and fortune. Martinez had been fired by the sitting Dona Ana County DA and switched parties and ran against him. The calculus makes sense. She probably figured to get all the Republican vote and enough of the Hispanic Democratic vote, and did.

Grisham, as has been pointed out, sides with Republicans on most economic votes and last week voted with its conservative wing as it tried to tie Department of Homeland Security funding to rolling back the president's immigration reforms.

She's at the least positioning herself as far to the right as possible, foreseeing that challenge from the right. This is classic Clintonian New Democrat -- mouth socially liberal platitudes, attack the working class, and watch the money roll in.

Incidentally, when I checked to see if her Facebook page had been edited because of the criticism she's getting, it hasn't been, but I've never seen as many negative comments there. Typically it's just uninformed admirers, but many people have visited there to express disgust at how she's handled this. Her admirers are mostly mute, shocked into silence by the realization that a narrative exists besides the one Grisham creates.

The only change to her page is that she's added a post extolling her bipartisanship, which is code for a Democrat throwing the working class under the bus again.

Hysterical. I can't say I agree with you Jim, but I'll buy you a beer for calling it like you see it even if I don't agree with you.
