Standing on the Corner in Winslow, Arizona

I didn't even know that this was a famous place until we stopped here yesterday.  A famous song makes for a great tourist trap.  I came, I saw, I stood there.

Didn't they have a girl driving a flatbed Ford around and around the block just so you could say she was slowing down to take look at you?

Too bad the rest of the building fell down.

If you're in Winslow again (or willing to drive an hour east of Flagstaff), try lunch at La Posada, the last Fred Harvey hotel. It's been beautifully restored. If you stay the night, try to get a room away from the tracks. Many trains go through every night!
