Misc.

The Big Lie has always amazed me.  Newt Gingrich says he was acting as a citizen and not a lobbyist when putting  the corporate health care crowd together with the congress.  His company made millions doing it.  And he thinks he is just a citizen.  Sometimes the Big Lie can work.  Gingrich is following the lead of Herman Cain.  He didn't do anything with that woman he saw for thirteen years in a long drawn out relationship.  He was just trying to help her financially.  It seems to me the GOP candidates for President are trying to see who can tell the biggest lie and get a way with it.  Clowns.

The Albuquerque Police Department and Mayor Berry want the public to vote on the new color of police cars.  Any thing for them to ignore the real issues of police violence and lack of jobs in this community.  I vote to keep the cars in the red, white and blue configuration.  The black and white looks a little sinister and are harder to see.  The Mayor is following the lead of Governor Martinez in trying to distract folks from real problems.

The Governor makes a big deal out of saving money on cars and cell phones but never says anything about jobs.  The only things she seems to talk about positively now is the movie industry and the Space Port in our state.  Both of those were created by Bill Richardson.  Last night on the SciFi Channel the Space Port and New Mexico had great exposure on a biography of Arthur C. Clarke.  He was a visionary and author.  His book Childhood's End is the first SciFi book I ever read.  It is a Masterpiece.

You are right on point with the statement that Mayor Berry is attempting to deflect ALL THE BAD PRESS. He has only been in the public eye for ribbon cutting. He needs to get rid of the APD Chief and all the DCOP's and quite a few Commanders. The City needs a new Mayor with a backbone.....

My comment is regarding the Mayor. I sent an email against the proposed Wal-Marts on Coors and Montano. I received a call from the Mayor's office confirming the Mayor read my e-mail. The Mayor understands my concerns however, HE is on the side of Wal-Mart’s. The reason....more jobs. Never mind all of the mountains of complaints, petitions, town hall meetings, etc. by each and every homeowner and shop keeper affected. All, voices against this 6th Wal-Marts to be built within 10 miles of the other 5 Wal-Mart’s. This Wal-Marts is to be built directly in front of the Bosque and next to a private school. Our Mayor is in favor of building a Wal-Marts on this particular lot....against all considerations. Question...what is in it for him? Certainly creating "jobs" for people at minimum wage, combined with the probability of causing established stores to go out of business (due to the offerings of Wal-Mart’s), does not seem to have the public's interest at heart. How does THIS create jobs??? I do not see the building of this Wal-Mart as beneficial to anyone other than those whose pockets are lined by its unfortunate blight into this community. Additionally, with the building of this Wal-Mart’s will come additional traffic which, I fear, will allow the Mayor to then proceed with building additional bridges and alternate routes (possible destroying more of the Bosque), to further this Boondoggle. I hear the Mayor wants to make some portion of the Bosque into something similar to San Antonio’s River Walk. I agree with the last Blogger. We absolutely need a new Mayor less resembling former Governor Richardson. When is his term up for re-election?

In some cases people have stopped new Wal Mart stores. Here's an article about it, with some contact info to some of those people at the bottom:

You can find a lot of info, too, if you do Google searches using "say no to Wal Mart" and "stop Wal Mart"

Mayor Berry and Chief Schultz need as many Wal Marts built as possible so they will have jobs as GREETERS once a new Mayor is sworn in... No double dipping at Wal Mart....
