Rain

The only thing that has been in the canales of our home near the Rio Grande in Albuquerque in the last  year is our cat Ajax.  He has taken to hanging out there in the mornings now that the weather is good.  My hope is that he will find it too wet at some point this summer. Thunderstorms are needed.

That's a good one. There are so many severe angles, highly contrasting areas of light and dark, of exposure, of texture, of color, of focus, that's it's hard to see how it works but it does. It's not so much that the right-hand one-third of the space anchors it, but in how it does it, is all I can say. You have taken it to the edge, though.

I hope you are keeping high resolution originals. Not that high resolution is an end in itself, as it seems to be in a lot of the photography I see in galleries -- after all, didn't the Impressionists and those folks teach us that it's not what you see but what you feel -- but just so you can make some larger prints someday.
